Job Summary:
The OT Technician is responsible for assisting surgeons and nurses during operations, preparing and maintaining the operation theatre, ensuring proper sterilization of instruments, and maintaining OT records and supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare the operation theatre before each surgery by arranging surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes.
Assist the surgical team during operations by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
Ensure proper sterilization and cleaning of instruments and OT equipment after every procedure.
Check and maintain OT equipment functionality and report any malfunction immediately.
Maintain OT stock such as sutures, gloves, and surgical consumables.
Follow infection control protocols strictly.
Help in positioning and shifting patients before and after surgery.
Maintain accurate OT records including procedure details, instrument usage, and sterilization logs.
Assist in pre-operative and post-operative care as required.
Coordinate with nursing and biomedical staff for smooth OT operations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Diploma / Degree in Operation Theatre Technology (DOTT or B.Sc. OT).
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in OT
Good knowledge of sterilization techniques and OT procedures.
